Hutch-A-Palooza
Pistakee Bay Charitable Foundation's Junior Board celebrated Hutch-A-Palooza, June 12, 2009. Hutch-A-Palooza started as an idea between a few teenagers to put on a really great music show this summer. It evolved into a "Bash on the Bay" concert on Pistakee Bay featuring three bands to raise money for a great charitable cause. All proceeds of this event supports McHenry Area Youth Commission (MAYC) whose mission is to “Keep healthy kids healthy” by sponsoring prevention programs for youth that promote responsible choices about drugs, alcohol, violence and gang involvement.

Our Maiden Voyage
Pistakee Bay Charitable Foundation hosted its inaugural benefit September 5, 2008 at the historic Pistakee Yacht Club in Johnsburg, Illinois. Foudation members and guests gathered to honor its 2008 Community Grant Award winner, McHenry County P.A.D.S. a part of Pioneer Center for Human Services.

The evening set sail with fine music and entertainment by Mike Knauf Jazz Quartet and Heather Moran. Guests enjoyed fabulous cocktails, hors d'oeuvres by 1776 Restaurant of Crystal Lake and historical boat tours of Pistakee Bay with docent and author Sandy Landen Machaj. Later that evening Ms. Machaj was available to sign her newly released book entitled "Johnsburg and Pistakee Bay".

This worthy event gave social stewards a chance to network with friends and business leaders, and take in the breathtaking sunset over historic Pistakee Bay. Noteable guests included, Honorary Chair Senator Pamela Althoff and McHenry County State's Attorney Louis Bianchi, who spoke of the importance of supporting local organizations who are struggling to provide services in today's economy. Further emphasized was the key role Pistakee Bay Charitable Foundation plays in helping fill the financial gap to satisfy these needs.

Attendees came from all over McHenry County as well as areas such as Barrington, Lincolnshire, Libertyville, Northbrook, Hinsdale, Chicago and Kalamazoo, MI for the inaugural event.
